Launch of 2014 Competition for Young People – Citizenship: What’s your role?

23 11 2013

Young people are being challenged to use their creative skills to demonstrate how they are involved in active citizenship within their community either as an individual or as part of a group in the Youth Justice Agency’s annual competition for 10 to 17 year olds.

‘Citizenship’ is the theme of this year’s competition with entrants invited to showcase their talents through a range of media including photography, poetry, short story or newsletter, song or rap, arts & crafts or short film. Winners will be judged in three age groups – 10 to 11 year olds, 12 to 14 year olds and 15 to 17 year olds.

Great prizes are up for grabs within each of the age categories thanks to our sponsors ‘The Co-operative Group’, ‘Harrison Photography’ and ‘Ulster Rugby’. Individual prizes include iPods, kindles, digital cameras and Ulster Rugby tickets along with a personal experience prize of spending a day job-shadowing a professional photographer at a number of assignments. One overall winner will also receive an iPad for their school, community or youth organisation.
